"You don't have to worry if you're with volleyball, even if you're in a strange environment and studying in the U.S.!"
Astro High, a youth volleyball club that boasts the largest and best facilities in Korea, has many aspiring volleyball players attending international schools. They are learning volleyball at Astro High to go to an American university or through self-development through international school club activities. Choi Yu-bin, who is in the 11th grade of Chadwick International School (CI), is one of them. She started volleyball in the 7th grade due to her sister's influence and has been doing volleyball activities in both school and Astro High until now, and is growing up with volleyball with the goal of entering college in the United States.
It was volleyball that started with the influence of my sister, but after I became interested in it once, volleyball became indispensable. Choi Yu-bin said, "It was nice to make a lot of various friends and enjoy hobbies with my sister since I started volleyball. I think volleyball was a good match, maybe because I was very active and liked sports."
Choi Yu-bin, who boasts volleyball skills for about four years, is facing a turning point this year. Choi, who has been a setter since she started playing volleyball, has changed her position to an outsider heater since this year and is showing new performances. As a setter, she has the ability to grasp the flow of the game and adjust the tempo, but she continues her new challenge due to the school team's situation.
Choi Yu-bin smiled, saying, "As I've been a setter, the ability I need to setter has become my strength, and as my position in the school team has grown and my role has become important, I'm taking on the role of an outsider. Now, Astro High is also using outsider heaters and apogit heaters at the same time. I'm not tall compared to my position, so I think I will become a good player only when I clean up my blocks and receptions."
The international school team and the Astro High Club team are both playing volleyball. "At school, people seek ways to win through matches as a team, rather than learning volleyball," Choi said. "However, at Astro High School, you can learn technical skills, join the club team, and gain experience by making teamwork with new friends. It's a different environment than at school, so I feel like I stepped up through a club. I made many friends and recognized the importance of teamwork, and my skills improved. I have improved my horizons in volleyball." 안전놀이터
She is full of love for volleyball. Choi Yu-bin said, "Volleyball is indispensable to me now. I visit volleyball to relieve my stress. "I plan to enter college in the U.S. and if I have volleyball even in unfamiliar environments, I think it will be easier to make friends and adjust to it. I want to play volleyball for a long time," he said.
